Today’s:
Joe Colton (the name given by Hasbro during the Marvel Comics run for the original G.I.Joe figure) was named after the son of Kirk Bozigian, Colton Joesph Bozigian. Unfortunately, our offer to puchase Colton for display was rebuffed by Kirk.

Kirk at the con this year mentioned that his daughter was originally going to be the name of Baroness, but they wanted to keep the character more mysterious.

I remember when this was revealed in the comic. It sent us into a scramble because we had used Clutch’s last name as G.I. Joe’s real name, and had grown very accustomed to it!
So to keep things ‘kosher’ (yes, that was intended), we said that ‘in order to protect his family’, Joe used the last name ‘Colton’ as his alias.
