No 2-ups for that era, no. Just about everything was sculpted about 1:1. I believe I saw a few heads a few years back for some of the new comic pack heads that were slightly larger than 1:1, but for the most part everything was sculpted just as it came out. I think there must be some shrinking of size along the way, because a fully handmade modern figure is just a couple cm larger than production. The only one I have ever held and compared is Matt Trakker. But once you see the comparison, you can kind of spot it in the Hasbro cases at Joecon.

...says the guy who has never been to a con or local COIL meet. Marc, you are a silly fella. :P

To answer Shogi, I thought I heard '94 was the last time. I don't think new sculpt used them and I know the modern era figs are mostly computer aided. Fun stuff.

Although as notpicard said, Hasbro was done with 2-ups by the new sculpt era, it wasn't across the board. Other companies like Toybiz still made their figures in 2-up form at least up to 2005, so it wasn't an industry wide change over right away. I'm assuming Toybiz did it all the way up to the switch over with Hasbro, but I'm still waiting to find a Modok wave 2-up to confirm that. I'm not sure on Mattel, I've not seen any 2-ups from vintage or modern era with any of their lines.

I would love to see them Jabba :)
So if two ups were not being used in the early years, Tripwire would have missed that stage then? Another question concerning Tripwire, would it be more feasible to pursue a 2001 proto or even a 25th proto? A 2 up is a dream but honestly, I could live with any proto for this character.

Hi Vadersquest. Tripwire definitely was created in 2-up (2 times / 200% / double the size of released 3 3/4") sizing. All the '82-'95 Gijoes were.

Maybe someone else can answer your question about how hard it would be to find a new/25th-style testshot of Tripwire. I don't collect testshots. But an '83 Tripwire preproduction items would be very difficult to find.

I wish I could point you in the right direction, but I don't think I know of Tripwire items being out there in collections. They might be out there of course, but I don't know of them.

Don't think I've ever seen a 25th Tripwire first shot.
