Hey Shogi, bear with me and I'll see if I can shed any light on the artwork :)

These are fantastic! I think half of the reason I collect these types of things along with 80's Joe merch is due to the artwork. The Frostbite/Wild Weasel shots are particularly interesting given the perspective of the art. Excellent find, Shogi.

The artwork is the main reason I collect the puzzles, I love all the different painted battle scenes

I don't think that it's a matter of people not caring. Heck this is a web site based on people caring about things like that. Though to some degree that is the case. More people care about the figures than care about puzzles, or birthday cards, or button's. That's just the cold hard fact.

In this case it's simply that there isn't a lot of information on some of these things. For the most part, if it's not on the box, what else would you have to go by? You might get lucky and find it in a catalog or a store advertisement, but that might not tell you anything more than the box would.

Look at some of the things that have been on YoJoe's "Unknown" list in the past. It's no longer on the list, but the 1983 toybox used to be there. What could you possibly find out about that box beyond the year it was made, and the company that produced it? Maybe possibly that it was exclusive to a store or a country. That's about it. Beyond mere existence, there just isn't much to say about some things.

Though at least in the case of the puzzles there is evidence to conclude there are other puzzles. So it's certainly worth looking into it, you never know what you might find.

Shogi, just got a puzzle with artwork from 1989/1990 figures (Hurricane, Avalanche, SAW Viper...). I´ll try to post a pic soon.
