Why was there not any news on this at SDCC? It was the most perfect time to get the exposure and gain new fans and members that were not aware of the GI Joe Collector's Club offerings. It seems to me that it was a failure when it could have gotten more media hype like the Matty Monthly subscriptions are getting. All they had to do was announce the plans and perhaps 1 or two more figures to get the necessary buzz. WHY???

Is anyone else disappointed that they were AWOL as I really want the club to succeed?

I'm gonna guess because the GI Joe Collectors Club didn't have a booth at SDCC. You have to remember, Hasbro is not the Collector's Club and vice verse.

Although, it would be nice if Hasbro could help promote the club once in a while

I would also wager that the club dosn't need any more "hype" or "exposure" for the 1st subscription year.

What they need to do is successfully produce and distribute their 13 figures, and then have those figures triple to quintuple on the secondary market.

Then...they can worry about adding more hype.

I couldn't possibly have said it better myself. I personally think the club has already bit off more than they can chew announcing this subscription service. 13 figures a year is tall order on top of the 2 conventions and all the other exclusives they do. They frequently make the excuse of only being manned by a few people. That said, why would they go for something like this. If I were a gambler, I would say it is a sure bet that they will fail to meet their monthly deadline at least once, likely more. Then the real fun will begin.

The only deadline I really see them missing is the deadline for the first figure. The reason I say that is that they have said they are ordering all 13 figures at the same time, and then just staggering the shipments.

Sometimes the club comes through, some times it doesn't. Like everything with the club that isn't con related, it has a high probability of being delayed. I believe that they do everything they can, but so,sometimes it is just out of their hands. I've heard a lot of discussion lately about how hard it is to get a factory in China to produce medium to high end toys, especially low quantity orders.

I know that I'll find it odd that they can do the MOTH 2-packs for $30, but these figures will probably be $30/each carded. Hopefully they will be closer to the adventure team packs in price (which I still haven't bought because I think those are priced too high).
