Hi guys, this thursday SSC have reveled the SDCC exclusive, Cobra Ninja Viper



What do you think about this figure? Would it be better a new character?

Yes, it should be a new character. A ninja viper is powder blue. This isn't even close. It would be like coloring a CG black and still being able to call it a Crimson Guard. ...... oh wait.

It looks cool, but I'd prefer a new character. However, I know they need to capitalize on each aspect of new tooling, accessory re-use etc. so I'd settle for making this an individual rather than a generic Ninja Viper.

I love the figures but this will be a pass. Too many other SS figures coming out that I must get.

The figure is cool but the color totally kills it for me. OD green on an evil ninja just doesnt sit right with me and I will be passing on this one. If they would have done him in dark "Cobra" blue or just about any other color I would have been fine with it and possibly even wanted one. Ideally I would want it in teal if their going to call it Ninja Viper. OD green screams military color and should be used for Joes. Seems like a poor rushed choice by Sideshow to me. They could have easily reused parts from other characters to give us a good repaint SDCC character. Next year will probably be a Crimson Viper...

I've seen the Red Ninja...it's a cool figure with TONS of cool accessories, It's a bit different from any Previous Red Ninja, but not ouside of the "Bounds of Interpretation" I'd expect from Side Show.... This one, they just totally messed up the color. Ninja Viper has never been any color other than Aquafresh Teal...Simple as that. Just like Firefly's head, Side Show picked the wrong color, we'll see if they have time to correct before SDCC or not.

I can see why they didn't want to go with teal, but OD green is rarely associated with Cobra. Replace the green with Cobra blue and I think it makes more sense.
