Hello all,

Wanted to take a second and introduce myself. I go by kiddreams on most sites (along with snakestorm and snakedreams on a few others, not really trying to hide anything, I swear). I started collecting Joes back in 82 and amassed a semi-descent collection. In 87(I was 12 at the time) I stopped collecting and boxed all of my Joes, Transformers, and Star wars up and put them in the attic.

In 1998 I was at my local CD/DVD/TOY store here in Tulsa called Vintage Stock. Of course I went in to look at CD's and movies and eventually made my way to the back of the store. They had some glass cases that had a ton of 80's toys in them. I noticed they had pretty much every kind of line you could think of. While loooking at the cases I found the Joe section. They had a pretty nice selection ranging from 82 on up. There were Joes and Cobras I had never even seen that were in there. I couldn't believe some of the prices they were asking on them. $20 for an out of the package figure? No freakin way!! I remembered all of my toys were boxed up in my parents attic.

Soon after(maybe even the same day) I went to my parents house and started getting everything down. All I could think of were dollar signs and all of the party money I was going to make. Going through my stuff brought back so many great memories of the battles these guys went through. I decided there was no way in hell I could get rid of this stuff. In fact, I decided to start buying all of the stuff that came out after I had stopped collecting.

Vintage Stock is a neat chain of stores. I used to visit a couple of them when I lived in Kansas City in 2003-04. I did unload a number of "common"-type figures at one of them for extra gas money on my way out of town.

I always had better luck finding Joe comics there, as opposed to worthwhile '80s toys, but I do remember scoring a '98 Viper for $6 or $7. :)

Welcome!

Yeah, in the early 2000's their pricing was way out of wack. A yellowed Storm Shadow could be $40 and a Hard Top with Mic could be a dollar:) I have to say I owe a substantial part of my collection to them.
