What to say about myself that others haven't already said about themselves so far? I'm a 37 year old CPA who lives in South Texas with my wife and two small children. I own my own public accounting firm (well, the bank owns it, but they let me run it) and aside from toys, I am into classic muscle cars and music of all kinds.
Like most of us, I'm a long-time Joe fan. I started buying the toys in 1982 and the comics with issue #1, so I feel like I've been with Joe since the beginning (at least Joe as we all love it). After a brief stretch in high school & college where I mistakenly considered myself too cool to buy toys, I got back into the hobby with the relaunch of the Star Wars line in the mid-90s. Eventually, though, I came back "home" to Joe. I started seriously collecting Joes again in 2000 and within a couple years I was starting down the path toward what has been my true passion in the hobby - collecting international stuff.
I collected ARAH like crazy, skipped the "new sculpt" era completely, bought up all of the 25th stuff I could get, and am currently sitting out PoC. My collection consists of all but 8 of the 1982-1994 figures, about 3/4 of the vehicles, everything ever produced with a 25th logo, and a large sampling of Joes from around the world...I have stuff from Korea, Japan, China, Australia, Belgium, Mexico, Canada, Brazil, Argentina, India, Egypt, the UK, Spain, France, and (strangest of all) California.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing what new flavor this site will bring to the online community.
