This is a simple re-paint of the 25th Anniversary Iron Grenadier. I don't think I have a single one that had really good paint apps, so I'm repainting them all. I wanted this one to be a machinegunner, so I gave him the smartgun from the PoC IG figure. I also dropped the swordbelt and gave him a simple utility belt with holster. I know a lot of people didn't like the 25th IG, but I think they really pop with some decent paint apps!

The original D.E.M.O.N. is a fearsome fighting vehicle and it will likely remain in service with the Iron Grenadiers for many, many years to come. However, knowing that all military hardware will eventually become outdated, Laird Destro ordered that MARS research and development should begin immediately on a 2nd generation D.E.M.O.N. He directed that the new vehicle be able to fight alongside, augment and eventually replace the current D.E.M.O.N. model. By building the D.E.M.O.N. v2 on the same chassis as the HISS v5, Destro was able to keep it's development a secret, even during field testing, because they look so very similar. The reality, however, is that the D.E.M.O.N. v2 is superior in every way to the HISS v5.

This D.E.M.O.N. II has been painted as a command vehicle for General Voltar.

When the Iron Grenadiers need to insert a team of Shock Troopers under heavy fire, there is no more suitable delivery vehicle than the Ogre APC.

Image

The Ogre's thick hide deflects almost any sort of barrage that can be thrown at it. It is capable of transporting an entire 12-man squad to their objective and, upon arrival, can provide them with fire support in the form of two .50 caliber co-axial machineguns, two 40mm repeating cannons and dual H.A.D.E.S. rocket launchers. The driver is able to operate all of the weapon systems by means of an advanced targeting and fire control system built directly into his helmet.

Each Ogre is operated and maintained by a highly trained driver known as a Troll. These men are hard even by the Iron Grenadiers' standards. Each one is an experienced mechanic, capable of repairing just about anything found on the Ogre. They're also legendary amongst the IG for their stubbornness, ferocity and overwhelming will to succeed, so it's no surprise that a great many Trolls eventually move on to the IG command ranks.

This is just a repaint of the classic Razorback, inspired by my overwhelming desire to have things uniform and standardized. Essentially, I just wanted my Razorback to match what I view as the "standard" Iron Grenadier paint scheme.

Iron Grenadiers Red Cap - Found among the ruined castles scattered across the Scottish borders, the mythical Red Caps were murderous goblin-like creatures who killed any travellers straying into their path. They would then dye their hats with their victim's blood and they had to keep killing as, if the blood dried, they would die. Despite wearing spike-clad iron boots, these demons were said to be too fast to outrun and so the only way to escape one was to quote a passage from the Bible. Following repeated attacks on his ancestral home, Destro put his engineers to work designing a defensive vehicle that combined speed, maneuverability, stealth and massive firepower to similarly handle any trespassers who might wish ill upon his keep. The Red Cap relies upon state-of-the-art concealment technology to remain hidden while utilizing an impressive array of detection and tracking equipment to find and fix its prey. Rebuilt upon its original site, Castle Destro is now surrounded by an impenetrable network of Red Caps.

This vehicle was created specifically for the Pimp Daddy Destro My Ride Contest at HissTank. The contest's Vehicle Category involves making a dedicated vehicle for a character that never had one before and the Figure Category involves a new character to be the driver for a vehicle that didn't come with one. For the Vehicle Category, I decided to create a vehicle for the Iron Grenadier's field commander, General Voltar. Because the contest requires you to name the vehicle, I'm calling it Voltar's Violator. I had a lot of fun working on this and got to use an old vehicle that has been sitting in my fodder box for nearly 10 years! Hope you dig it!

SKAR Trooper - These elite troops form the backbone of the SKAR (Soldiers of Khaos, Anarchy and Ruin) organization. They are fiercely loyal to their leader, Iron Klaw.

My very first issue of the classic G.I. Joe comic was #6, which introduced the Oktober Guard. To this day, that is one of my all-time favorite Joe stories and the Oktober Guard have a special place in my heart. The recipes for these figures were blatantly stolen from the exquisite work of several different HissTank customizers (but mostly from Turner, if I recall correctly)- all I really did was assemble the parts and paint them.

Colonel Brekhov (Commando & Team Commander)

Daina (Sniper)

Horror Show (Anti-Armor)

Stormavik (Paratrooper)

Dragonsky (Flame Weapons Specialist)

Schrage (Machinegunner)

The first time I saw the PoC VAMP, the color and aesthetic reminded me of something the Oktober Guard would have driven. When I started work on these guys, I set about obtaining a VAMP for them. Special thanks to ShockVal for hooking me up with one at a great price! The Oktober Guard logos are decals from CobraStickers.
