Hey dudes,

I have a viper pilot figure and I am beginning to wonder if it is a genuine 83 or if it is a bootleg or kitbash. I have searched some of the boards and have found some conflicting information on the subject. Mine looks real but I have heard that there are some observations on the rivets that can determine more closely whether a figure is real vintage or not. Anyone know this info? I really appreciate any help. Thanks!!!

I will try to take a pic and post it asap.

Quite frankly it looks real. Most of the fake ones do have different rivets, but I'm not sure how they are different. I would just say that with the bootleg versions out there, a worn logo it a pretty good sign of it being real.

Thanks for your input. I hope it's real. If i were making bootlegs tho I would consider rubbing the logo off a little to add to the "authenticity" if you know what i mean. This false patina method is used on many other types of antiques and collectables.

It looks real to me as well. It is most likely legit.

thanks again. I think it is real too. The example on YoJoe has painted rivets on the shoulder but that paint rubs off easily i think.

Can you post a pic of the back? There is an easy tell there.
