It was great to read about what might have been, I really enjoyed the DDP run of GI Joe, and I enjoyed what they did with it. Robert Atkins, is probably my favorite Joe artist to date. Great issue, I always enjoy the newsletter, kudos to you guys for all the time and effort you put into each issue.

Just finished reading it. Having never read an issue of the magazine, I went in with zero expectations.

Totally impressed. It probably helped that this issue was right in my wheelhouse and centered on the Joe comics. That said, there really wasn't anything in here that I had read or heard before. It wasn't just a retread on the history of how Larry Hama created the filecards and then the comic that we've all seen a hundred times.

The DDP run was a huge step in the evolution of Joe comics and really deserves more credit for bringing Joe books into the 21st century. The info was well sourced to say the least. Getting the scoop straight from some of the main men made for a great read. The only complaint I have is that it wasn't enough! I could have read their thoughts on every major arc of the DDP run.

The "declassified" stuff, like Robert Atkins sketches and the rare variant cover were great highlights.

All in all, very well done. I am looking forward to more from the Declassified crew.

Thanks, guys!

Thanks once again to all the contributors who were able to participate in putting this one together. My one page of thanks at the back never quite seems enough to do it properly, but I can't express to the readers how much some of these folks labor and toil to bring you a quality product. None of these gents earns a dime doing it, and their love and support of the hobby is evident in the quality of their work. Special thanks again to the industry professionals (Rob Atkins, Josh Blaylock, Mark Powers, and Mike O'Sullivan) for taking time out of their current ongoing schedules to help us out, and an extra special thanks to my Editor-In-Chief Chris Chung and Layout man Todd Weinzierl for once again saving my skin at the last possible moment.

For all of you able to obtain a copy for yourselves, I hope you enjoy and treasure it as much as I have (and Gary, there better be a copy awaiting me when I get home next year).

Thanks!

Hey Jetfire,

What you said really means a lot of all of us who worked on the newsletter, because that's our mission statement---to provide information that hasn't been circulated a million times already by a million different outlets. With all due respect to Hama, he's done a ton of interviews in the last two decades, and the majority of those are the same questions asked over and over again, and the same answers given over and over again. Very little new information is ever gleaned, so our focus was to talk to other people who had new information not widely known. :)
