I was so much looking forward to this figure..till I opened it and felt the head and neck were out of proportion.

Fast forward a few months..and it doesn't seem so bad.

Anyone else have thoughts? Did you mod it or think it's fine as is?

Works for me but my customizing talents are squat, so I dealt with it as-is.

I've modded other figures to fit my needs, but the Shock Trooper felt fine to me out of the box.

At the time I received the figure, I think I was overwhelmed by the sheer awesome of Snake Eyes and a few other Non-Joe items, which kept me from truly appreciating the Shockie for the coolness it is.

This is why I don't like buying many items at one shot as I feel it detracts from the appreciation.

On the plus side, I feel like I have a new toy now!

The Shock Trooper was a highlight to me, in all honesty I liked him better than the Alley Viper.

I have this problem with army building things, so i went apeshit an d bought every one I could find at first(when they hit in wave 3). When I opened them, i was disappointed. I don't like the shoulder level, the skinny body, and the lack of places to keep his accessories. It is one of those figures that probably has "realistic" proportions, like a McFarlane figure or something, but it doesn't fit well with the other Joe figures without looking...wrong.

So, I sold my extras for $14 a pop (thank you scalping on ebay).

But then, today...I run into one at a Target, for the first time in MONTHS...

And I can't put it down. Damn the sickness.

This is a truth I think most of us share.

For me the figure works with his armor on. Once you take off the helmet or the vest it doesn't look right. That was the part that disappointed me the most. I wanted use these guys as the base figure for Vipers by swapping gear. But it isn't a good enough base body.

I'm not a fan of it on an aesthetic level (except for the colours... love the colours). The proportions deter me, though. I completely respect the work and detail and overall risk that went into the figure. But I'm not a fan of all black accessories (ie the gas mask) and the head looks so big and the legs look so skimpy and the torso looks so constricted and the shoulders look like they're melting off his neck.
