OK, here's my thought for this thread. We live all over the place, mostly America, but all over the world to. Each of us has a different toy hunting ground so to speak. But how often do you go on vacation only to find out a week after you got back that there was some awesome toy shop in the city you were just in, and you missed it.

So, in your neck of the woods, what are the best Toy Hot Spots? Could be a Toy Shop, Comic Shop, Flea Market, even just a really awesome Walmart that always seems to have the latest toys.

I currently live in Central Kentucky. Not really a destination for most people, but a lot of people do pass through here on there way to somewhere else. Just to get it out of the way, my own shop, Captain Cosmos Collectibles is CLOSED. It's formerly awesome glory is no longer . . . at least for now.

Here in Winchester, Ky. we don't have much. A Peddlers Mall [that's like a flea market that's open all week, and run like a normal store] that occasionally has some good finds. But if your in a hurry, I wouldn't bother with Winchester.

Lexington Kentucky is a bit more fruitful. They have a HUGE Peddlers Mall, about 5 times larger than the Winchester one. Can't say that I've found much there though. Currently 4 comic shops, I only really recommend A+ Comics though, decent selection of toys and comics, and generally nice to customers.

Have not spent much time in Louisville, but they do have a really nice comic shop called "The Great Escape." The few times I've gone they have had pretty decent selection of toys. There's also a small but very well stocked place on the south side called Toy Crazy. Plenty of Flea Markets in the area as well.

And of course, let us not forget when one is in Central Indiana, Kokomo Toys is a required stop.

If your in Denver, seek out the Mile High Comics Mega Store. The place is the size of a typical grocery store. If your there on a weekend, the Mile High Flea Market is a great place for toys.

Not too much in my area but there are a few nice places:

Greensboro, NC

Target on Lawndale Ave. - Always seems to have items before anyone else

There are no actual local toy stores in GSO, Acme comics has some Transformers and newer toys and over a year ago their backroom (employees only typically) had tons of vintage toys that I guess they just don't want to sell

Winston-Salem, NC

Ssalefish Comics - Great place, vintage and newer toys. Like Acme there's a lot more in storage than on the sales floor, but they also host a Toy show at least once a year (sometimes twice) and show up at the GSO Toy Show where they pull out all of the awesome vintageness they have.

Chester's Collectibles - Lots of toys, mostly 90's though. Sometimes the prices are right on, most of the time they seem a little high, but the guy running the store is nice

Salisbury, NC

The Comic Monstore - Great little store with a pretty good selection of vintage and new toys, make sure to check out the back gaming room as there are more toys back there (My Flagg was found in that back room :) )

Charlotte, NC

Rebel Base Comics and Toys - Huge selection of vintage toys (so much they don't even fully know what all they have :) )

Now these next two are from the last place I lived in (Kansas City, MO) I'll be checking them out again next week so I may have to update these two

Independence, MO

Monty's Book Swap? - I think that's the name, Very well hidden toy/book shop underneath a medical building. I've seen crazy prices on incomplete Joe vehicles there and I've gotten great deals too. Many vintage japanese models for cheap as well (I cleaned out their selection of Macross models years ago)

Grain Valley, MO
Brass Armadillo Antique Mall - Huge place with deals to be had most of the time. Since it's an Antique Mall there are some excellent items at great prices (My first time out there I picked up two of the Inhumanoids and a Voltron Castle) and some times you see crazy things like a sunfaded frankenjoe for $20.
