Big fan overall, but looks like I am in the minority preferring the title before Chuck Dixon came on (though his opening Beach Head story was great). I was especially partial to his Lady Jaye, and of course the Cobra Commander stuff.

I liked that they took chances and really played around with the mythos. The whole 'Duke as traitor' thing was great. If the series had continued I would have been pissed if they had made Duke a triple agent.

It was a great concept and it was picking up its pace and story and getting very interesting just as they canned it.

And we wouldn't have Dixon writing the all of the GI Joe he is now (which includes GI Joe Season 1 & 2, Origins and Snake Eyes). So he is pumping out a lot of GI Joe and seems to have finally figured it out.

Ironically, now Dixon has written GI Joe in three universes. IDW, Reloaded and the Movie Universe.

Hama has also written in 3 ARAH, DDP and IDW.

Although Dixon has quite a ways to go but at his current pace of 2 to 1 he will catch Hama in total GI Joe comics written.

COBRA: Reborn (written by Paul Jenkins) was one of the greatest single issues of any G.I. Joe comic, ever. It just took a drastic turn towards crumminess shortly afterwards... again, Reiber was awful on that series.

I think Duke would've pulled the old triple-agent switch had the series continued. No way were they running with that one. ;)

I couldn't agree more!

This is one of, if not THE favorite comics I own. Cobra Commander was *finally* portrayed to be a strong, driven, intelligent villain rather than the bumbling, cowardly, clumsy one version we've grown accustomed to seeing.

It would have been nice to see their version of the SS/SE/CC origin and relationship.
