OK, so I was at the exxon station early this morning filling up on gas ($70 to be exact) and I started cleaning out my truck and as I made my way over to the trashcans I saw a folded $20 on the ground. I looked and nobody was around that just dropped the cash so I picked it up. On the way back to my truck I started counting , 20, 40, 100, 150, 200, 250, 400..... It was a wad of cash that totaled $520!!

I have never found anywhere close to this amount so I recounted and sure enough it was all there. At this point I was the only one at the station so I went inside and left my name and number and asked the clerk if anyone lost cash to give me a call. I went over to Roy Rogers for breakfast (my god that was good) and I must of spend that amount in my head about 50 times before my phone rang. It was the clerk at the station and there was a frantic older gentleman there. So I made my way over and he knew the exact amount he lost and thanked me over and over again.

The way I look at it I have 520 good karma points in my court, so that has to get me something

Most I've ever found was $1 It was in some grass near a closed business and was soaked from the night's rain....Yeah, I kept it. I would have done the same as you had I found $500 though

I found a $5 in Philly. Stopped dead on the sidewalk and snatched it off the ground.

You did the right thing for sure. I never found that much cash. The most I ever found was $10 or $20 which of course I kept because losing that much shouldn't break anyone. $520 is a back breaker for sure. My wife found an $800 IPad a month or so ago. She gave it to me to do the investigative work on finding the owner. I found only their e-mail address and sent them an e-mail. They called me an hour later and they got it back.

I was set up at a toy show about a year ago, when somebody came up to my table and asked if I'd dropped some cash.

I hadn't but there was a bunch of money littered around the front of my space.

I picked it up, Counted it ($300 or so) and set it aside...a bit later the guy who pointed the cash out, brought a dude who'd lost his money by my table... He'd been by my table earlier and the amount he was missing match what I'd found...so I gave him his cash back... He gave me $20.

My brother did while he was working for a grocery store in high school. Someone left a large amount of cash in a cart. He got $50 for finding it.

Nice folks! Glad to see most of the cash was returned to the owners. Because of our actions we might of stopped the end of the world that was suppose to happen today.

Goldbug - This one would be hard because they should of found it during inspection or atleast when the kids were cleaning out the house. When you purchase something like this you get everything that comes with the house and land. That could be a new Acura MDX sitting in my driveway.
